The Excel Sawmill in Opasatika Ontario relied on RPM for all their hydraulic power unit requirements and field piping installation. The photo shows a unit that was designed and manufactured by RPM for control of a sawmill carriage drive system. The unit consisted of a closed loop variable flow piston pump that was connected to a radial piston motor that controlled forward and reverse motion of a carriage assembly. The system upgrade provided better acceleration and higher speed of the carriage, thereby increasing production.
